My home in the Lowcountry of South Carolina as well as my love for travel has provided a wonderful palette to capture the magic of my surroundings in my photography. I am drawn to make images of architecture and landscape with a special attention to light, form, and texture. You may see geometric designs in the world around us as a recurring theme in many of my pieces. For certain images, I hand color part of the black and white image to accentuate subject or guide the eye, a century old process generally forgotten about when color film was introduced. I have found that photography is 1/2 technical skill, 1/4 pre-visualization, 1/4 serendipity. When all of the variables are just right, photography is like writing a poem, only this story is told using light, tone, and composition to relay a certain spirit or emotion to the active observer. I have exhibited in a number of single and multiple artist exhibitions throughout the southeast and his fine art photography is in numerous private and corporate collections around the US. I split my time between fine art photography, weddings events and people and commercial photography.
